We had been searching for our second bolthole for about six months. Nothing inspired the wonderful feeling we had when we walked into The Old Cornstore until we stepped through the door at Liberty Cottage. The previous owner had renovated it with love and great care. Even the sash windows were sent away to be restored by experts. The overall finish was excellent and we instantly knew we had found bolthole number two!
Liberty Cottage is a pretty two bedroom cottage set just off British Road in St. Agnes.
Open Plan Living Space
The open plan living space in Liberty Cottage has everything you might need for a luxury self-catering break by the sea. There is a super comfortable sofa to flop down into after a day at the beach, a TV with Freeview and fast Wi-Fi throughout the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and some things that are just nice to have (like a Nespresso coffee maker and an iPod speaker). There is a tiny outdoor courtyard but there is enough space to store surf boards or a couple of bikes. It’s also a good place to sit and catch the last of the sun’s rays with a cold glass of wine or Cornish cider!
In the master bedroom the luxurious memory foam topped king-size bed makes for a perfect night’s sleep and lazy mornings with breakfast in bed are a must! The second bedroom is tiny but we have managed to fill it with super comfy bunk beds that our kids have given the seal of approval! We can also provide a small travel cot, high chair and stair gate if you are travelling with a baby and we have plastic cups, cutlery and bowls for tiny toddlers.
The bathroom on the first floor is a perfect place to relax in a bubble bath after a day at the beach and is stocked with Egyptian cotton towels.
Like many properties in St. Agnes there is no private parking space with the house but you can usually park right outside by the living room window or further along on British Road. There is also a free car park a two minute walk from the house.
The house is right in the centre of St. Agnes with shops, pubs, a chemist and the doctor’s surgery right on the doorstep. It is also a short walk from the beautiful beach at Trevaunance Cove. Check out the tides before you go at www.magicseaweed.com. It is mostly uphill on the way back which is all the more reason to reward yourself with an ice cream or a cold drink along the way.
Cornish Treats on Arrival
We hope all our guests will enjoy staying at Liberty Cottage and we will do our best to welcome you to our part of Cornwall. We’ll make sure you have some basic provisions and some nice Cornish treats to look forward to when you arrive but please let us know if there is something else you would like us to arrange for your visit – maybe a locally caught fresh lobster and a bottle of Camel Valley fizz, a box of Cornish pasties from the St. Agnes bakery or just some pouches of baby food! We only live 10 minutes away so can be on hand if you have any problems or need any help or advice.
